Breaking Out The Christmas Decor! :) :)

Call me crazy. Millions have already but I can't help but to break out the Christmas decor when it starts getting chilly out. Sue me. I haven't put much out...just a few things here and there. Here was the first of it (on my new table that I'm OBSESSED with!)

Just some simple vases and a hurricane that I made with some fake snow and ornaments.

I'm in love with it :)

Jute Candles & A Quick Catch Up

Oh my dearest bloggers...life has been INSANE lately. Like unhealthy insane. I've been crafting but haven't gotten around to doing much blogging. I'll do my best to catch you up these next couple weeks.

So we'll start with jute candles. These are pieces of cake and anyone can make them! I bought the candles from the local Dollar Tree (they can also be found at Family Dollar) for obviously $1 :) The jute can be found just about anywhere...Walmart, Target,, Menards, Fleet Farm.  Then you just need some sort of little decorations. Ornaments and bells are what I used but the possibilities are endless :)

Aren't they cute? Simple? Yes. I think they're the perfect, simple accent to any home. And they're less than $1.25 a piece to make! Now go craft!

Quite possibly the easiest wreath ever!

I've seen this idea on several different websites and had to make one of my own! It didn't turn out to be as easy as I'd hope and I'm not entirely sure I'm pleased with mine but I can always tear it apart and start over!

Supplies needed:

Floral wire- you can get a 6 foot roll for $1 at DT which is probably enough to make two wreaths depending on the size you'd like

Various ornaments- I used some that I had on hand and picked some more up at the DT. You can use various colors and sizes or the same colors and sizes. Up to you.

*A little tip to make your life easier-hot glue the tops of the ornaments on. This will save you lots of trouble and ornaments popping off in the long run!

Just take the ornaments then and string them on the wire. There doesn't have to be an special pattern to it. You can add as many ornaments as you'd like but keep in mind that they'll have to be pretty compacted to make the wreath look good. When you're all done string on ornaments just take the two ends of the wire and bring them together. Twist them into a circle and you have a fabulous new wreath!

Ta-da! I'm not crazy about the color gold at all which is why I might end up tearing this one apart and starting over. But you get the idea! Let me see pictures of yours!

Memo Keepers

So, like I said I'm working on crafts for my aunt's craft sale. I saw an idea for these somewhere online and thought they'd be perfect! And I'm always loosing stuff on my desk so I decided they'd be another perfect (simple) craft!

You can get the plastic frames for $1 at the Dollar Tree or for $0.96 at WalMart.

Take some pretty scrapbook paper, add stickers if you so please and place it inside the frame.
Take a post it note pad and stick it on the frame with double sided tape and voila!
Super easy, super way to keep your note pads visible!

Another great thing about them is there are so many different ways to personalize them to fit the people you gift them too!

Chilly days

Brr! It's getting chilly here in Wisconsin! It's about 44 outside right now! This means that I'm staying inside! And what better thing to do than crafts?? I'm working on Christmas stuff now as I've decked the house too full capacity for fall. And I like Christmas better anyway.

One of my aunts owns a nursing home and each year they do a craft fair. As I'm out of school this year I've had a bit more time on my hands so I've actually been working on crafts to sell there! I've been working on several different projects but here's is the first completed project:

I saw these about a month ago at Shopko for $5.99 a piece. I mainly thought of how to make them so I could put them on one of (my three...yes three) Christmas trees. Then I decided to share the cuties and sell them at the craft sale. These are so simple!

Supplies needed:
Black paint-I had this on hand
Orange paint-I had this on hand
Paint brushes
Red pipe cleaners-$1 for a pack (of around 50) at DT
Red pom poms-$1 for a pack (of around 50) at DT
Glass ornaments-6 for $3.99 at Fleet Farm  ( I think you can get them for $2.44 at Walmart)
Fake snow-$3.49 for 3.5 quarts at Fleet Farm ( I didn't even use half of this bag and I made a dozen of them)

So the price was $13.47 for 12 ornaments! Or $1.12 a piece. And I still have most of the pipe cleaners and pom poms left and half of the fake snow! Can you say good deal?? And they're adorable aren't they? I can't get enough of them!
